Our Carnival theme for 2017 is 'World of Music' and will take place on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29th.
We're really looking forward to Carnival day which will feature a host of entertainment including a parade through the town and stalls in Abbey Park, along with many musical acts already lined up to take part.
We know that the Carnival is loved by the people of Pershore and surrounding villages and have been working very hard to make this year's Carnival bigger and better than ever.
And there is still time to get involved with the procession by entering a float! We’re really keen to encourage people to enter the smaller floats – the car and trailer type or walking processions this year as they’re a great way for smaller groups to join in.
Carnival King & Queen
The lead up to Carnival will get underway with The Pershore Carnival Royalty Event.
The event, held at the Riverside Youth Centre, will take place on Sunday, February 26, between 2pm and 4pm.
Youngsters can audition for the role of King and Queen (ages 9-12), and Prince and Princess (aged 6-8). All entries must be able to demonstrate a "winning smile" and a "regal wave".
The winning four will receive a royal pamper session on the morning of carnival, sponsored by The Hair End Pershore.
Application forms for carnival royalty will be available through schools, from Pershore Town Hall and on the downloads page.
Entries will be judged by the Mayor of Pershore, Councillor Bob Gillmor.
If you want to be involved in making this year’s carnival an event to remember, either by participating or offering sponsorship then contact us here or call Colin Shepherd on 01386 553585.
