Mr Shepherd, Pershore Carnival Chairman said “The committee have worked really hard fundraising over the last year to be able to give the people of Pershore their carnival. This years is likely to be one of the biggest and liveliest Pershore has seen for some years”

Pershore Carnival is not just a fantastic family day out, it raises money for a chosen charity through the street bucket collection which takes place during the procession. This year’s recipient is the Pershore Riverside Youth Centre.

As well as the Carnival Parade, there is a variety of entertainment planned throughout the day, including a dog show by the Blue Cross, open mic session, street dancing, circus acts and fantastic live music. Pershore Abbey will also be open for tours from 1 pm - 5 pm.

The numerous stalls and funfair on Abbey Park will open at 10am. The Carnival Procession will begin at 1pm.

There will also be there are some new events including a Tug of War and Pershore’s very own Bake Off Competition.

The Arena Acts will kick off at 2.15pm with children’s street dance group Dance Challenge.

The Evening Concert is being headlined by Mel & Him, a lively and entertaining duo performing hits from the 80s, with a few newer and older classics mixed in.

Mel Winterflood one half of Mel & Him said “We are delighted to be headlining the Pershore Carnival Evening Entertainment, we are always happy to support local causes where we can, we love performing! It's the best feeling when the music starts, people's faces light up and someone shouts 'TUUUUNE!' - you know you're on to a winner! We love it."

The day’s entertainment will conclude with the Firework finale at 10pm.

As fireworks can be frightening and stressful for animals, all animal owners are advised to keep their pets in.
