This year’s carnival may only just be over but we're already starting to think about next year’s 50th Anniversary Carnival.

Mr Shepherd said “This year’s carnival was one of the best Pershore has seen for many years. We want to build upon this success and make the 50th celebrations even better, but to do so we need a team of people to make it happen.

Surprisingly many people don’t realise that Pershore Carnival is organised each year by a small group of volunteers who are responsible for all the planning, organising, and fundraising. Quite simply without them Pershore wouldn’t have a carnival.

The planning and fundraising starts almost as soon as the last one finishes. However, when you see the crowds lining the streets and the smiles on the children’s faces you know that all the hard work has been worthwhile.

At the end of this year we will sadly be losing several committee members, so we desperately need new people to come on board”

A number of committee roles will be available for town residents to get involved with ranging from Site Manger to Secretary. You don’t need to have any previous experience of being on a committee or any professional skills. It may be that you are a social media fan or a website whizz. You may enjoy arranging events or have fantastic organisational skills or have a talent for design. You may quite simply be a willing pair of hands.

Most importantly you will be reliable, willing to commit your time and get stuck in!

To find out how you can help to make 2018 Pershore Carnival happen, please come along to the AGM at 7pm on 17th July at Pershore & District Sports Club, The Bottoms, Defford Road, Pershore, WR10 1HU.

We will be pleased to see you.
